Everyone visits Elfia as he or she wants. Dressed up or not dressed up, it doesn’t matter. But it obviously improves the atmosphere when visitors come in costume.

Airsoft, sharp stabbing weapons, baseball bats and Paintball weapons are legally NOT allowed on Elfia. More information about our gun policy can be found here.

The blue ribbons are a wonderful initiative from our (photographing) visitors! This concept originated because not every photographer feels comfortable asking to take photos, and not every costumed visitor feels confident approaching a photographer. Photographers who are open to taking photos wear a blue ribbon, often on their camera bags. This is a signal that they welcome being asked by visitors or are eager to take photos themselves. It lowers the barrier and creates beautiful interactions among the creative minds at our event. Important to note: wearing this ribbon is by no means mandatory, and not everyone is necessarily aware of this initiative. The ribbon is intended to reduce hesitation; however, not wearing one doesn’t mean you can’t ask for a photo. Asking is always encouraged!

Opening hours for Saturday are from 10am to 10pm.

Elves with a weekend ticket can enter the site at 9:30 am.

There is an ATM on site.

However, we also recommend that you bring enough cash with you to avoid long queues.

At Elfia, the toilets have been free since 2023 and have also become gender-neutral. This means that there is no longer a distinction between ladies’ and men’s toilets. As a result, the toilets are accessible to everyone. Despite the visitor limit, the total number of toilets has been significantly increased to meet the demand.

Our toilets are regularly cleaned by a dedicated team responsible for this task.

Since April 2022, Elfia has been introducing its own kingdom currency: Elfos. You can pay with Elfo’s at all caterers, which can be purchased on site (and possibly in the presale). A limited edition is released regularly.

It is not mandatory to pay with Elfo’s, euros will be accepted as well. We do recommend bringing cash, as not all caterers have ATM machines.

Yes, it is certainly possible to store your belongings safely during Elfia. We offer lockers that you can find near the entrance. These lockers come in three different sizes: Dwarf (small), Human (medium) and Giant (large). All lockers are equipped with a handy USB connection, so you can charge your mobile devices, for example.

As the lockers are very popular, we recommend booking a locker in advance. This is because they go fast! You reserve a locker by buying a ticket for it, simply in our ticket shop; https://www.elfia.com/tickets/. Tickets for the lockers in Haarzuilens 2025 will be online in November 2024!

At 18:00 on the Friday before the event, you will receive a code to open your locker with. Make sure you do not leave items in the locker, because the next day the access code will change and you will no longer be able to access your items left behind.

The lockers are located in front of the entrance, so actually just outside the festival site. Do you have things you don’t need or don’t want to take onto the festival site? Then store them here. Do you want to go to your locker in between? Make sure you leave the terrain and have to cross the border again. You can find everything about leaving the terrain between visits here!

Unfortunately, it is not legally permitted to fly a drone above Elfia as a private individual due to the presence of crowds and buildings.

Dogs are not allowed on all parts of the site (this will be indicated by signs), but are allowed on the site provided they are leashed.

Dogs are allowed on a leash, but please leave dragons and other (predatory) animals at home. The local authorities are less happy about this and keep a strict eye on them.

Unfortunately, the castles will be closed during Elfia. Both the castle Arcen during Elfia in September, and the castle De Haar during Elfia in April.

Ticket sales for Elfia Arcen in September always start the week after Elfia Haarzuilens. This means ticket sales occur from late April until the event in September.

Children up to 2 years old can visit Elfia for free.

For children from 3 to 11 years, there is a special discounted rate (please note; children’s age/legitimation will be asked for when ordering these tickets).

For all other visitors, the full rate applies.

Please note that due to the strong limit on the number of visitors, for both Saturday and Sunday, only 400 children’s tickets are available. No weekend tickets are available for children, so children who want to enjoy the magic all weekend will need a separate Saturday and separate Sunday ticket.

Yes, it is possible to have the tickets scanned on your smartphone so that a paper version of the tickets is not necessarily necessary. However, make sure your phone is charged before going to the event! Your screen must also be intact and for a fast flow, we ask you to set the brightness of your screen to the maximum.

Unfortunately, we do not have our own Elfia campsite or hotel.

For overnight stays in a hotel or at a campsite, we advise you to consult Google for accommodations nearby!

In Arcen it is best to look for accommodations around Kasteeltuinen Arcen, Lingsforterweg 26 Arcen.

In Haarzuilens around Kasteel de Haar, Kasteellaan 1, Utrecht.

Parking is entirely in the hands of Arcen Castle Gardens. Parking tickets and information can therefore be found on the website of Arcen Castle Gardens itself.

There is a car park opposite the entrance, navigate to Lingsforterweg 26 and follow the signs. There will also be additional parking in Lomm and shuttle buses will continue to run up and down from that car park to the entrance and back. Again, this is entirely in the hands of Arcen Castle Gardens itself.

You are not allowed to bring your own food and drinks onto the site. About a few sandwiches, one or two snacks and a bottle of water, we do not bother. However, large quantities of food will be rejected by Customs. There is no intention of bringing whole picnic baskets of course-dinners or second & third breakfasts. (Sorry, hobbits!) You are also not allowed to bring alcohol onto the grounds yourself, but it can be ordered from the various bars.

Luckily, there are also a lot of different caterers on site! For vegetarians, vegans or people who want to eat gluten-free: check our catering overview. There are also drinking water points on the grounds. These are indicated on the map. You can also tap drinking water at permanent toilet buildings.
