It’s not allowed to bring your own food and drinks onto the event site. A few sandwiches, one or two snacks and a bottle of water won’t be a problem. However, large quantities of food will be rejected by Customs. Entire picnic baskets full of course dinners or second & third breakfasts are therefore not the intention. (Sorry, hobbits!)
You are also not allowed to bring alcohol onto the premises yourself. As you may have noticed, the mead shop has not been on the grounds for the last few editions. This coming Haarzuilens, the shop is nowhere to be seen at all. This has everything to do with the regulations regarding alcohol at events and the catering permit.
Fortunately, some 40 different caterers can be found on the grounds! There are several options available for vegetarians, vegans, people who want to eat gluten-free or Halal. Do you have a special diet due to medical reasons or would you like a detailed overview of what you can go to at which caterer? Than please send an e-mail to elfoffice@elfia.com.
By the way, there is a drinking water point on site where free water is available.
