Bateria Volle Petaj

Volle Petaj is widely known as the founder of samba percussion in the southern regions of the Netherlands.
In their city of Maastricht, and the surrounding area, they have been widely imitated in recent years. Nevertheless, Volle Petaj manages to distinguish themselves time and again through their distinctive ‘sound’, their charismatic and heavily dynamic performances as well as their dark mystical image that is always drenched in a light sauce of black humour.

Volle Petaj is Maastricht dialect for ‘giving everything you’ve got with full force’. And that is exactly what you can expect from Volle Petaj: expressive dynamic performances, mixing various Brazilian percussion styles with ‘non-samba-related’ influences that form the basis for this group’s idiosyncratic sound.
