Sir Roly Rotherham (Uncle Roly)

Yet again Professor Roland Rotherham (or Uncle Roly) will be attending Elfia to tell stories of past legends and fabulous tales of death and destruction.
Uncle Roly has promised never to miss an 'Elf' while he is still breathing and afterwards? Well you never know, he might return to haunt you all.
The Elfia events are the high point of his year and over the many events he has attended (every one since they started, is this a record Stefan)? he has grown to love Elfia and it's wondrous collection of fabulous humans/zombies/elves/demons/fairies and vampires. 'His' chapel at Kasteel de Haar has become his favorite venue, in much the same way that Holland has become his second home.

As our theme for this year is ‘Space and Time’ let us explore together how different cultures in history viewed their own Space. What of the view of the Heavens/Worlds of the Norsemen What exactly is ‘Niffelheim ? Where did the Frost Giants live ? Did the Ancient Egyptian have multiple galaxies ? What about the Celts ? Do they have one Heaven or many ? Join us as we look at some of the most fascinating stories in the ancient world. Bring your own oxygen masks and keep an eye open for mummified ‘Jellybabies’ as we enjoy this journey.

In the past we have travelled together to the lands of the Ladies of the Lake. Join us now as we explore the opposite side of these magical realms. Venture into the murky depths of the ‘Dark Water’, the realms where the dangers and demons hold power over the foolish mortals who fall into their lair.
Shiver as we look at ‘Jenny Greenteeth’ and be prepared to be horrified as we enter the world of ‘Meg Mucklebones’ and try not to be too afraid as the dark dank realms reveal their secrets and the stories of the spirits who haunt them. Don’t forget to bring a lifebelt in case you fall in !
